W orld Impact Wichita is currently ministering in two target communities. The first community is in Northeast Wichita. We have a church plant in this area called Christ the Victor Church (CTV). This church meets every Sunday at 1454 N. Volutsia. (This is the second oldest World Impact house in Wichita.)
The church started a year and a half ago at the home of Daren and Tina Busenitz. What started as a group of twelve missionaries has now grown to a unique community of believers. Our church consists of World Impact missionaries and staff, medical residents, young adult ministry partners, and people from the community. God has clearly brought a great foundation of believers to this little house church that we hope will be mobilized to plant more house churches in the future.
Christ the Victor Church also holds weekly men’s and women’s Bible studies and small discipleship groups meeting throughout the week. A volunteer group currently facilitates a weekly children's program on Saturday afternoons.
The second community we are ministering in is north of downtown. Audrey Hannemen lives in a missionary home on North Market. She is a part of the Market Street church planting team, along with volutneers Gerson and Mayra Berrios and Rachel Busenitz. La Iglesia de Cristo Victorioso is in the beginning stages, meeting on Sunday evenings and reaching out to the large spanish-speaking community in the surrounding area through English as a Second Language classes for women, Bible Studies, and many prayer walks.
Prayer Requests for our church-plant areas:
- Pray that men and women in each community will come to know Christ as their Savior, and then be discipled and raised up as leaders in the church plants.
- Pray that our outreaches will be effective in drawing people to Jesus and to the church.
- Pray for wisdom as we discern the next steps for both of these church plants.
